Sometimes, being a teacher is awesome. Like June 27 through right after Labor Day. With nine weeks of freedom, Thomas and I decided that it might be fun to leave our cozy uptown nook for a while. As our friends got international on their summer vacations, nothing--not subway muggings, not perilous back injuries--would keep us from our Big Fantastic California Adventure (Via the Southwest).
The plan was to visit family on the west coast, where both my parents and Thomas' mother come from. The to-do list also included:
- swimming holes
- Frisbee in Meteor Crater
- buy Native American souvenirs (friendship bracelets, head dress)
- Chinatown
- eat tacos
I made this blog because I took almost 300 photographs along the way. Happy vacation (vicariously)!
